In Moratuwa, a large suburb of Colombo, you will find The Dilmah Conservation Sustainable Agriculture and Research Centre (DCSARC). This centre is an organic certified farm and also an active centre for research that has multiple ongoing research projects on organic gardening, ecosystem services and soil science. For instance, it offers designed plots to educate visitors on how small urban spaces can be converted for eco-friendly home gardening that have a positive impact on families and the environment at large.

Brewing advice

• Boil (preferably filtered) water to 100˚C (boil water maximum one time)
• Let the water cool down to 70-80˚C to not burn the leaves of the green tea
• Use one tea bag per cup (220ml of water)
• Allow to infuse to taste for 2-3 minutes
